Appeal filed for 570 flats after council rejection
5plus/Peveril SecuritiesA company that saw a bid to build 570 flats in four large apartment blocks on the site of vacant offices rejected has appealed to have that overturned.
Peveril Securities proposed building the 11-storey blocks on Napier Court in Reading, currently used for three two-storey offices that have been vacant since summer 2025.
Reading Borough Council rejected the project in April on multiple grounds, including a lack of affordable housing.
But Peveril Securities has applied to the Planning Inspectorate to get planning permission despite the council's concerns, including a lack of "appropriate provision" for open space.
