Valentine card from Amy Winehouse to be auctioned
Getty ImagesA Valentine's Day card sent by Amy Winehouse to her jailed husband is to be auctioned in Surrey 15 years after her death.
The late Back to Black singer sent the love note to Blake Fielder-Civil after he was sentenced to 27 months behind bars in 2008 for attacking a pub landlord and perverting the course of justice.
At the time it was sent, Winehouse had already filed for divorce from Fielder-Civil, who she married in May 2007, and was on holiday in the Caribbean with her new boyfriend.
The item, which is part of a huge package of rock memorabilia set to go under the hammer at Ewbank's in Woking on 26 August, has an estimated sale price of up to £4,000.
Winehouse, who died from accidental alcohol poisoning in 2011, aged 27, wrote in the card: "My husband. my Blake, virtue Is violent and violets are blue, blue-bruised is my heart, since its beating for you.
"I love you, handsome. 4 years your Amy x," she added.
Ewbank'sHowever, despite still carrying a torch for Fielder-Civil, Winehouse's divorce from him went through uncontested at London's High Court in July 2009.
Auctioneer Andrew Ewbank said: "While Amy's story was ultimately tragic, she was someone who clearly wore her heart on her sleeve.
"She was a person with a lot of love to give, but for whom the difficulties of fame impacted on both her life and relationships."
He described the card as the chance for fans to own a "unique piece of her history".
Among the other 500 or so items set to feature in the auction include signed guitars from Bruce Springsteen, Oasis and AC/DC, autographed albums from Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd, as well as ephemera from musical legends such as The Beatles, Bob Dylan and Queen.
