A 17-year-old boy was arrested following the incident on Oxford Road in Reading

A 17-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident in Reading.

Thames Valley Police was called to Oxford Road, at the junction with Cranbury Road, at about 09:00 BST on Friday following reports two men had been spotted with knives.

A 21-year-old man, from Reading, had sustained injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. He was also arrested on suspicion of possessing of an offensive weapon.

The 17-year-old male, also from Reading, remains in police custody.

Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone who may have captured footage of what happened, to contact them.
