Man charged following fatal dog attack

A man has been charged after a woman died following an attack by a dog in Wolverhampton.

Lila Hall, 78, was attacked on Willis Pearson Avenue on 15 April.

Matthew Williams, 37, from Wolverhampton, has been charged with one count of being the owner/person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury, resulting in the death of a person.

He appeared before Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court on Tuesday and was remanded until another hearing on 4 August, West Midlands Police said.
