Man charged with murder after assault victim dies

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a man who was assaulted in Leeds last week.

Mark Shaw, 43, was left with critical injuries after an assault in Ramshead Crescent in the Seacroft area of the city on the evening of 9 July.

He was taken to hospital but died of his injuries on Monday night, West Yorkshire Police confirmed.

Hayden Clarke, 27, of Halton Moor Road in Leeds, was initially charged with causing grievous bodily harm. He is now charged with murder and will appear at Leeds Crown Court on Thursday.
