Man arrested in Lockerbie sex assault investigation

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a sexual assault in Lockerbie.

Officers said the alleged victim, a 30-year-old woman, was targeted as she walked along the town's Dumfries Road, at about 19:10 on Saturday.

Police said the 27-year-old man had been released and was the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal.

Insp Garry Mitchell thanked the public for its help with the investigation.
