The Old Crown in Rothley is set to be redeveloped

A former pub in Rothley is set to be converted into a hair salon and cafe after planning permission for the development was granted.

The applicant sought to turn the Old Crown in North Street into a dual-use premises of a hair salon and a cafe that transitions into a wine bar in the evening.

Planning documents submitted to Charnwood Borough Council said the plans for the ground floor site represented "a sustainable and sympathetic reuse of a prominent village asset".

Documents stated that the change of use would create approximately 14 jobs which would be a mix of full-time and part-time roles.

Three off-street parking bays, which will be dedicated to hair salon customers, will be retained as part of the plans, documents added.
