Crews tackle field fire 'caused by firework'
Essex County Fire & Rescue ServiceFirefighters have tackled a wildfire they believe was sparked by a firework.
Three crews were called to the blaze near Glebe Place, Tendring, Essex, at about 22:10 BST on Saturday. The flames spread across a field during the night.
The crews worked to surround the flames and a farmer helped put in a firebreak, which helped prevent it spreading further, said an Essex fire service spokesperson.
One of the farmers affected thanked the fire service and said: "The fire quickly spread throughout the fields and it was shocking to see."
"Firefighters believe the fire was caused by a firework," the spokesperson added.
