A spokesperson for Infrastructure and Environment said the road would be closed for "a few hours"

Drivers and bus passengers have been warned that a road in St Helier has been closed for emergency roadworks.

Shortly after 15:00 BST on Monday Infrastructure and Environment said the Inner Road, St Aubin's Road, would be closed between the People's Park roundabout and First Tower "with immediate effect".

A spokesperson said the team was working "as quickly as possible" to carry out the "essential works" and expected the road to be closed for "a few hours".

LibertyBus said buses would be diverted via Victoria Avenue before joining the Inner Road at First Tower.
