Call out for trainee officers to serve and protect
BBCThe States of Jersey Police is recruiting for new trainee officers to join its force.
Applications opened for the next intake of student officers on Thursday with the 20‑week training programme delivered on‑island. The force said the starting wage for those signing up would be £49,630.
Police said applicants would provide front-line policing by preventing and detecting crime and protecting vulnerable islanders. Those applying must be aged over 18-and-a-half years old and an island resident for at least five years.
During the process, candidates will provide their initial application and if successful they will be expected to do a fitness test, written test and an extended interview.
The force no longer has academic qualification requirements.
Those interested will be able to attend open events at police headquarters on Wednesday 13 May between 18:00 and 20:00 BST and on Saturday 16 May between 09:00 and 11:00.
