Man bailed after midnight violence in city

A police investigation has been launched following a midnight brawl in Wolverhampton.

Police were called to reports of disorder near Chester Street and Evans Street late on Friday night.

Several streets in the Whitmore Reans area were reportedly cordoned off and a heavy police presence was spotted by residents.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder but was later released on bail, West Midlands Police said.

A spokesperson added that officers were continuing to review CCTV footage in the area and they appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.
