Motorcyclist dies in County Donegal crash

A motorcyclist has been killed following a collision with a car in County Donegal in the Republic of Ireland.

It happened on the on the N56 at Termon at around 16:30 local time on Friday.

Gardaí (Irish police) said the motorbike rider, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital where a post mortem examination is due to take place in due course.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment to non serious injuries.

The scene was preserved on Friday for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversion were in place.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to the incident to contact them.

They have also asked anyone who was travelling on the N56 between the Lagoon Restaurant & Guesthouse and Creeslough between 16:00 and 17:00 and who may have dashcam footage to come forward.
