Torbay Pride an 'inclusive celebration for all'
Harry SchofieldA Pride event in south Devon has returned as a "free and inclusive celebration for all" despite funding challenges, organisers say.
Torbay Pride took place on Saturday with entertainment, community engagement and the carrying of a 120m (395ft) Pride flag at 12:00 BST.
Chris Smith, chairman of Torbay Pride, said: "We've faced real challenges this year with funding, especially as we were not eligible to apply for National Lottery support, due to a change in our dates and the funding period."
He thanked backing from sponsors and donations through crowdfunding for allowing Torbay Pride to "once again be made possible".

"Without them, Torbay Pride simply wouldn't happen."
The event included entertainment from a range of performers, including local musician Grace Messer, who was selected through a community act application process.
Organisers added there were local food traders and local traders and charities sharing information, crafts and community resources.
