Boy, 8, seriously injured after van crash

An eight-year-old boy has been injured after being struck by a van in Lincoln.

Lincolnshire Police said the incident happened close to a pedestrian crossing in Outer Circle Drive, near the junction with Macauley Drive, at about 10:30 BST on Saturday.

The boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries, the force said.

Officers appealed for witnesses, including anyone who saw a white Mercedes Sprinter flatbed in the area at the time of the crash, to contact them.
