Man charged with murder over New Year's Day death

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Leeds on New Year's Day.

Police officers attended reports of suspicious activity outside Gargrave Court in Burmantofts at 08:14 GMT on New Year's Day.

Dwayne Tuohey, 55, was found seriously injured and died a short while later, according to West Yorkshire Police.

A force spokesperson said 51-year-old Scott Silkstone had been charged with murder and was due to appear before Leeds Magistrates' Court later.

A man and woman, both 42, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender but were released without charge, the spokesperson added.
