A fire service said it had "quite the moo-ving rescue" after a bull got itself stuck in a pond in Dorset.

Crews from Weymouth and Gillingham came to the aid of Fred when he was found trapped in the 4.5ft-deep (1.3m) pond in Milton on Stour on Sunday morning.

They used spades and shovels to create a safe pathway before using rescue strops and the farmer's telehandler to help pull the bull back on to dry land.

Fred "was none the worse for wear and was soon reunited with the rest of his herd", the fire service said.
