Police said Brody Leach was last seen going into the river in just his jeans

A search is under way to find a 22-year-old who was last seen entering the River Severn in Shrewsbury just after 04:00 BST on Friday.

West Mercia Search and Rescue said it had been called in to assist the police in the search for Brody Leach, who was last seen wearing jeans and no T-shirt.

The town council said parts of the town's Quarry Park, including the play parks, have been cordoned off, along with the Porthill Bridge and Victoria Avenue.

The police said his family had been informed.
