Man charged over serious city centre assault

A 37-year-old has been charged after a man in his 40s was seriously hurt in a city centre assault.

Police said the victim remained at Addenbrooke's Hospital following the incident in Castle Street, Norwich at 03:25 BST on Sunday.

An area outside the Waterstone's store was cordoned off until about 19:00.

A man was due to appear at Norwich Magistrates' Court charged with causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and for producing cannabis, a Class B drug.
