The works at Bottesford station are due to start on Monday

A car park at Bottesford railway station is to close for five weeks while improvement works are carried out.

The platform one car park, off Station Road, is set to undergo a series of upgrades from Monday, including resurfacing, the relining of parking spaces, new lighting, CCTV, and expanded cycle shelter and updated signage.

East Midlands Railway (EMR) has advised customers to use the platform two car park at the end of Palmer Avenue while works are taking place.

EMR said a signposted walking route must be used at "all times" and urged customers to allow extra time for their journeys.

Philippa Cresswell, customer experience director at EMR, said: "These upgrades will deliver a better, safer and more welcoming station environment for everyone, with improved parking, lighting, CCTV and cycle facilities.

"We'd like to thank customers for their patience and cooperation during the works."
