Man sexually assaulted five women in an hour

A 27-year-old man has been found guilty of multiple sexual offences after assaulting five women in one morning.

A jury in Jersey's Royal Court found Abdelkarim Arfaoui guilty of 10 counts after deliberating for four hours over the attacks in St Helier, which occurred in less than an hour on the morning of Sunday 30 November 2025.

The counts included attempted rape, five of sexual touching without consent, one of grave and criminal assault, two counts of common assault and one count of threatening or abusive behaviour.

Jersey Police praised the victims' bravery in coming forward after the attacks by the "dangerous sexual predator", who was remanded in custody until sentencing.

Arfaoui was charged on 1 December 2025 and first appeared before the Magistrate's Court on 2 December 2025.

Speaking outside court, Det Insp Christina Maclennan, of Jersey Police, praised the victims' bravery.

She said: "I hope today's outcome provides them with some sense of closure and demonstrates that those who commit such offences will be held accountable for their actions."

She added that Jersey was still a safe place and such offences were very rare.

Investigating officer Det Con Jack Maguire thanked the victims, adding: "Today's verdict is a testament to the bravery and courage of the five women who came forward and supported this investigation.

"It is because of their evidence that a dangerous sexual predator has been convicted."

He encouraged anyone who experienced, saw or was concerned about behaviour that did not seem right to contact police.

"Even information that may appear insignificant can prove crucial in protecting others, identifying offenders and supporting investigations," he said.

Arfaoui was remanded to HMP La Moye until 24 July, when a court hearing is due to set a sentencing date.
