Artwork at youth centre celebrates young people

Six new graffiti panels have been unveiled at a new purpose-built youth centre in Jersey.

The art, installed on the hoarding at Ann Street Youth Centre construction site, celebrate the creativity and experiences of young people, the Government of Jersey said.

Pupils and young people from across the island - including Grainville School, d'Auvergne Primary School, Mont à l'Abbé School, Springfield Primary School and several youth projects - all took part in creating the art.

The Children, Young People, Education and Skills Department said children had also shared ideas for the centre through the Ann Street Youth ambassador programme.

The government said 64 young people and 39 parents and interested adults gathered on Jersey Children's Day to discuss ideas about what young people would like to see in the new facility.

Some of the ideas included gaming facilities and places where young people could access support.

The centre, due to open in 2028, would provide modern, inclusive spaces where young people could meet friends, try new activities, develop skills and access support when needed, the government said.
