Fire station to reopen after two year revamp
GoogleA fire station in Surrey is to reopen this month after being closed for refurbishment for two years.
Improvement work on Lingfield Fire Station began in the summer of 2024.
During the overhaul, which was funded by Surrey County Council, Lingfield's crew and vehicles were relocated to Oxted in order to continue functioning.
A Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) spokesperson said: "The station has been completely modernised, creating a better, more sustainable space for our crews and helping them continue to protect and serve our communities."
In order to mark the station's reopening on 14 August, SFRS will hold an open day, with all proceeds going to the Fire Fighters Charity.
