Boy, 5, seriously injured in e-scooter collision

A five-year-old was seriously injured when his bike was hit by an e-scooter, police said.

The boy was taken to hospital after the incident in Greenfield Avenue, Northampton, at about 18:15 BST on Tuesday.

Northamptonshire Police said a man, 33, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and is currently in police custody.

Detectives have appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.
