Housebuilders say they have agreed to reduce the number of homes they plan to construct on two sites in the Highlands following local feedback.

Springfield Properties is now proposing up to 400 homes on farmland at Ardersier, down from the 600 originally put forward.

Tulloch Homes's Essich Road project in Inverness has been cut from 400 to 315 properties.

Both sites are in areas that Highland Council has identified for housing.

Springfield Group said it had listened to views for and against its proposals.

The development in Ardersier would include land for potential use for retail, education, health and community facilities.

Highland Council has identified sites for housing across its region as part of its plans to deliver 24,000 homes over the next decade.
