The M5 has been closed northbound between junction 11 for Cheltenham and junction nine for Tewkesbury

A section of the M5 has been closed following a serious two-vehicle crash in Gloucestershire.

The northbound carriageway has been closed between junction 11 for the Golden Valley Interchange, near Cheltenham, and junction nine for Tewkesbury since about 12.30 BST.

National Highways said the incident was not expected to clear until about 19:30.

Emergency services remain at the scene and Gloucestershire Constabulary has asked drivers to find alternative routes.
