Newlyweds Ryan and Freya Sedgman decided to show the match at their reception on their wedding day, at The Mount Without.

"If you can't beat them, join them," Freya said.

"There's going to be guys sat in the corner watching on their phones, so why not show it on a bigger screen?"

Ryan said their big day was more than two years in the making, and never would have predicted England to play that night.

He said: "Initially, we didn't want it to take over the day.

"I'm a big football fan, and a lot of Freya's family are big football fans."

He added he was "a little bit surprised but very happy" when Freya approved showing the game.

Meanwhile, many thousands of fans attended The Prospect Building to watch the drama on a huge screen.

"It's helped the bar, and we do get a higher than average bar spend per head when football is on.

"Because it's such a good atmosphere, it's positive people having a wonderful time."
