The miniature beach huts will move around the town throughout June

The first of three miniature mirrored beach huts has been erected in Worthing as part of the town's 2026 Fringe Festival.

The huts, each roughly a metre tall, will pop up around the town throughout June.

The art installation aims to be a "tiny mirror held up to the town" which reflects its local surroundings, according to creators ECE Architecture.

The beach huts will move around to different locations in Worthing until the end of the month, encouraging locals to explore the town.

The first beach hut appeared at Level 1 on Worthing seafront on Friday.

The creators said the installation, titled 'A piECE of our Mind', aims to encourage locals to "look a little closer and discover their town in a whole new light".

"The town is the canvas. The art is yours to find," said Veronika Mølbæk, of ECE Architecture.

She added the huts' mirrors reflect "the seafront, the sky, the streets, and the people passing by".

A similar art installation appeared on Worthing beach in 2015

In 2015, ECE Architecture installed a similar full-sized mirrored hut on Worthing beach.

The sculpture became a popular photo opportunity for locals and beachgoers.

Stuart Eatock, Managing Director at ECE Architecture, said he hoped the new structures will be "something the town can genuinely connect with again".

The three beach huts were created using local materials from Covers Timber & Builders Merchants in Bognor Regis and took five weeks to design and make.

Worthing Fringe Festival 2026 runs from the 1-30 June, with events celebrating live music, theatre and art throughout the month.

At the end of June, ECE Architecture will auction the beach huts to raise money for charity.
