Firefighters have tackled a major blaze at a factory in Bradford overnight.

Emergency crews were called to Bowling Park Close at about 19:45 BST on Wednesday, with images shared on social media showing a commercial building fully engulfed in flames and partially collapsed as thick smoke billowed into the sky.

At its height, 15 crews from across West Yorkshire were in attendance. The majority of the blaze has been extinguished and four crews and an aerial ladder remain at the scene to damp down on Thursday, a fire service spokesperson said.

An investigation into the cause of the fire would begin later, they added. In the meantime, the public have been asked to avoid the area.

People living near the scene had earlier been urged to keep doors and windows closed due to the smoke from the fire.
