Man jailed for string of child sex offences

Kevin Brett was jailed at Ipswich Crown Court for numerous child sex offences

A man has been jailed for a string of child sex offences.

In March, Kevin Brett, 65, of Beyton Road in Thurston, Suffolk, was found guilty of seven sexual offences involving a child and one count of voyeurism following a trial at Ipswich Crown Court.

He appeared at the same court again for sentencing, where he was jailed for a total of 12 years.

Brett was also handed a restraining order as well as a sexual harm prevention order.

The charges Brett was convicted of were:

  • Three counts of inciting a girl under 13 in sexual activity
  • One count of assault of a girl under 13 by touching
  • Three counts of engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a child
  • One count of voyeurism
