The 2026 Brighton Naked Bike Ride has been postponed after organisers said they felt "unable to guarantee the safety of riders".

The people behind the event in the East Sussex seaside city, which had been due to take place on 13 June, said: "This is due to a clash with another protest announced this week, together with a counter-protest scheduled for the same day.

"This was not a decision we took lightly but, amongst the committee members, we felt we had no choice."

A potential future date for the event is expected to be announced in late summer or early autumn, the organisers said.

The 2026 demonstration will be the group's 20th ride to raise their concerns about the use of fossil fuel.

"Brighton has a long and proud history of making our voices heard on many issues that affect us and we propose to postpone the ride rather than cancel entirely," said the organisers.
