Woman arrested after man stabbed in Brighton

A woman has been arrested after a man was stabbed in Brighton.

Sussex Police said officers were called to reports of an assault in George Street at about 10:30 BST on Saturday.

A 28-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, the force said, and a 36-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Investigation work is continuing and officers have appealed for witnesses.
