Three people have been arrested following a knifepoint robbery at Repton Post Office.

Derbyshire Police said it was called to Repton Post Office in the High Street at about 11:15 BST on Tuesday.

The force said three suspects were found and arrested shortly afterwards.

Two men, 42 and 37, along with a 43-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of robbery and remained in custody, police said.

Insp Leanne Craig said: "I would like to thank members of the community for their swift reporting and for supporting officers by providing vital information and evidence. Your assistance has been greatly appreciated.

"You may notice increased and targeted police patrols in the area today.

"These patrols are in place to provide reassurance, engage with the community and to offer advice. Please do not hesitate to speak with officers if you have any concerns or questions."

Officers asked for people with further information that could help their inquiries to contact the force.
