2025/26 highlights

  • 94% of UK adults use our services on average per month, 81% per week (Source: Compass by Ipsos UK)
  • 73% of UK adults agree that the BBC is 'for all', more than any other media provider (Source: Yonder, 1,050 UK adults 18+. Disagree: 15%)
  • No.1 - The BBC remains the most used brand for media in the UK (Source: Compass by Ipsos UK)

In numbers

  • 502 million - The BBC is carrying the UK’s voice, values, and influence to a weekly audience of 502 million people worldwide. (Source: BBC Global Audience Measure)
  • 72% of UK adults use BBC News on average per week – well ahead of the next nearest provider. (Source: Compass by Ipsos UK 16+)
  • No.1 - The BBC continues to be the UK’s top provider for fact-checked, accurate reporting and content that people can trust. (Source: Yonder, 2,085 UK adults 18+)
  • £1=£3.49 - For every £1 of the BBC’s direct economic activity, £3.49 is generated in the UK economy.
  • No.1 - The BBC took home 12 awards, more than any other broadcaster or streamer, at the 2026 BAFTA Television Awards.
  • £6.7 billion - The BBC contributed almost £6.7 billion to the UK economy last financial year, of which 67% goes directly to the creative industries.
  • 6 hours 3 minutes - Adults (16+) spent 6 hours 3 minutes watching BBC TV/iPlayer on average per week – more than all the big SVOD streamers combined. (Source: BARB As Viewed)
  • 15 million - The first series of The Celebrity Traitors concluded its run with more than 15 million faithful viewers tuning into the finale.
  • No.1 - The BBC is viewed as the media provider doing the most to bring people together with coverage of big events, live moments and content (Source: Yonder, 2,085 UK adults 18+)
