Halifax got their first National League win of the season at the third attempt, blowing Tamworth away in the first half on their way to a 4-1 home victory.

The hosts were 3-0 up by half-time. Conor Carty opened the scoring after 18 minutes before Zak Gilsenan stunned Tamworth with two goals in three minutes at the end of the half.

Ben Tollitt ended any lingering hopes of a fightback by the visitors, grabbing a fourth after the restart.

TJ Bramble's goal 14 minutes from time came far too late for Tamworth to recover as they were left still in search of a first win.
