39 years since Sir Alex was appointed United manager. Don’t forget he was on the brink of getting sacked after four years of not much.

  2. Postpublished at 90+10 mins

    Chelsea 2-0 Manchester United

This could've easily been four or five for Chelsea today.

  3. CLOSE!published at 90+9 mins

    Chelsea 2-0 Manchester United

    It should be 3-0.

Valentin Barco arrives at the far post but he can't keep his effort down.

Lovely ball in from Malo Gusto, though.

  4. Is Carrick's time up at Man Utd?published at 14:27 GMT

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 90+7 mins

    Chelsea 2-0 Manchester United

Cole Palmer ends his game with a goal from the spot as he is replaced by Geovany Quenda for the final few minutes.

  6. Postpublished at 14:26 GMT

    Chelsea 2-0 Manchester United

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Chelsea goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live at Stamford Bridge

I think Estevao has been very good. Very dangerous down the right-hand-side, he has caused all sorts of problems for Manchester United.

  7. Postpublished at 90+6 mins

    Chelsea 2-0 Manchester United

And the corner comes to absolutely nothing.

  8. 'Man United get in their own way'published at 14:24 GMT

    Chelsea 2-0 Manchester United

    Joe Cole
Former Chelsea and England midfielder on TNT Sports

It's a club that for so many years has looked like it's getting in its own way.

Patience is required, which is difficult when a club like United has had so much success and has so many expectations.

  9. Postpublished at 90+5 mins

    Chelsea 2-0 Manchester United

Leny Yoro reads the ball into the box and knocks it behind for another Chelsea corner.

  10. 'Easier to replace manager than whole team'published at 14:23 GMT

    Chelsea 2-0 Manchester United

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Chelsea goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live at Stamford Bridge

It is easier to replace a manager than replace the whole team.

Unfortunately, when clubs do make the decision, generally it is the manager to go.

For me, this is not on Michael Carrick. It is a senior player being sent off, which is crazy.

  11. 'Absolutely perfect'published at 14:23 GMT

    Chelsea 2-0 Manchester United

    Ally McCoist
Former Scotland striker on TNT Sports

That is difficult to take, he meets it absolutely perfect. What a strike from Bryan Mbeumo.

  12. Postpublished at 90+4 mins

    Chelsea 2-0 Manchester United

Josh Acheampong has the freedom of Stamford Bridge as he strides forward.

The ball finds Cole Palmer in the D but he sweeps his effort over the top. Poor.

  13. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 90+3 mins

    Chelsea 2-0 Manchester United

My word! What a hit that was from Bryan Mbeumo.

He hits it first time on the bounce and he's almost snapped the crossbar in half.

  14. Postpublished at 90+2 mins

    Chelsea 2-0 Manchester United

Joshua Zirkzee does well to find a yard of space for an effort on goal but Levi Colwill sticks with him to make the block.

  15. INJURY TIMEpublished at 90+1 mins

    Chelsea 2-0 Manchester United

We're into 10 minutes of added time.

    Don't think anyone expected that.

This United squad don’t have a gear to go up. This is their best. I’m not sure how many more games you’ve got to watch to realise that.

  18. Postpublished at 89 mins

    Chelsea 2-0 Manchester United

Is this the final time we'll see Michael Carrick as manager of Manchester United?

I guess we all thought that would be the case last week, too.

Surely that is the end of Martinez at this club. All bark, but no bite in recent times.

    Shiv, Canada

I'm a lifelong Man Utd supporter, but today's the end. The only person that actually cares is the manager and he'll be gone shortly. Relegation could get rid of the players and owners and that is what they deserve!
