This game has all the energy of an under-8s match the morning after they have all been trick or treating. Unfortunately it also has a similar level of composure in front of goal.

  2. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:18 GMT

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

Goalless at the break but United have been the better of the two sides.

Some boos from the home fans, too.

  3. 'I'm loving this game'published at 13:17 GMT

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

    Ally McCoist
Former Scotland striker on TNT Sports

I mean don't get me wrong I'm loving this game but you can't go from attack there, to one pass and then Chelsea are straight through.

  4. Postpublished at 45+2 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

Romeo Lavia does so well to break up the United attack but his ball to set Pedro Neto on his way is awful.

  5. 'It's not good defending'published at 13:16 GMT

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

    Joe Cole
Former Chelsea and England midfielder on TNT Sports

Wesley Fofana is asleep again, Amad Diallo comes across and that's the second time now.

It's worrying from a Chelsea perspective. It's not good defending.

  6. INJURY TIMEpublished at 45+1 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

Into two minutes of added time in this intriguing first half.

  7. 'Chelsea are short with just two centre-forwards'published at 13:15 GMT

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

    Joe Cole
Former Chelsea and England midfielder on TNT Sports

I think Chelsea have left themselves short with two centre forwards, if you look over and there's not a centre forward on the bench it's not good.

With all the money they've spent, they're still short.

  8. CLOSE!published at 44 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

Harry Maguire is the next player to make a mistake and Pedro Neto latches on to it.

He glides into the box and aims for the far corner from the tightest of angles but he puts it wide.

    Has to square it.

Entertaining game but mostly because no one can control it. I still think Chelsea have more to lose out of this one.

    Dave, Melbourne

Are Chelsea terrible in this game or United just too good in this game?

    Sanjay, London

  10. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 43 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

Amad spins Wesley Fofana again and he only has Mike Penders to beat but he puts it over the bar. A really poor finish but does Fofana clip him?

Not enough for a penalty, VAR says.

  11. Man Utd 'switching it up'published at 13:13 GMT

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

    Danny Murphy
    Match of the Day pundit

Manchester United have made some good opportunities, it's just that final bit of quality. They'll be pleased with what they're creating. There's a little tweak at the moment with Fernandes on the left and Cunha in the 10. They're switching it up from an attacking perspective.

  12. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 42 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

Five minutes left in the half and Chelsea have a corner.

It just hits Moises Caicedo and bounces off the base of the post. He knew absolutely nothing about it.

United are playing like the home team. Chelsea have no organisation, poor pressing and so scrappy with the ball. They don't look like they have a plan at all.

  14. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

You honestly wouldn't know the likes of Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers were on the pitch. They've been so quiet.

Chelsea need them two to start playing.

  15. Man Utd must stay focusedpublished at 13:10 GMT

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport Manchester United reporter at Stamford Bridge

Manchester United must stay focused here.

They are playing well, they have had chances, they thought they were ahead but they are not.

They cannot take their foot off the gas and they cannot afford to get disheartened.

  16. 'Carrick has handled himself superbly'published at 13:10 GMT

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

    Ally McCoist
Former Scotland striker on TNT Sports

Regardless of Michael Carrick's coaching or managerial skills, he is a top fella and has handled himself superbly with everything that's going on.

  17. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

This time, Levi Colwill gets the first contact and Mike Penders mops up the danger.

  18. Postpublished at 38 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

Harry Maguire heads back into the mixer but Levi Colwill clears behind again.

  19. Postpublished at 38 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

Chelsea can't deal with Amad on the United right.

He goes past Moises Caicedo in the box and shapes one towards the far corner but Wesley Fofana blocks behind.

  20. Postpublished at 13:08 GMT

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United
