Locations most affected will be coastal roads and footpaths along the North Sea coast from Mappleton to Spurn Point. We are closely monitoring the situation . High tides overnight may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible from 04:00 AM to 06:00 AM on Tuesday 29 September. The forecast high tide at Richmond is 4.60 mAOD at 05:00 AM on Tuesday 29 September. Locations most affected will be Putney Embankment (SW15), Chiswick Mall and Strand on the Green (W4), Thames Bank at Mortlake (SW14), Ranelagh Drive (TW1), Friars Lane and Water Lane (TW9), Riverside and The Embankment at Twickenham, and the Towpath below Teddington Lock. Flooding of properties is not expected. Astronomical tide levels are rising. The river flow at Teddington Weir is 5 cubic metres per second and is steady. High tides on Tuesday may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible for 1 hour either side of Tuesday afternoon's tide at 13:30 on 29/09/2026. The weather increases tide table values by 0.49 m. Total forecast tide is 6.90 metres Chart Datum (3.63 mAOD) at Shoreham. Light South Easterly Force 4 wind. The tide will come close to the top of walls and slipways in Shoreham Town. Minor impact flooding will affect Sussex Yacht Club. Riverbank houseboats will be raised higher than normal, making access to them temporarily more difficult. Wednesday's tide at 01:45 30/09/2026 is forecast to be 5 cm lower (3.58 mAOD). No further flood impacts are expected. We are closely monitoring the situation. High tides over the next two days may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of high tide on Tuesday morning, Tuesday evening, and Wednesday morning. Areas particularly at risk include Torbay, Teignmouth, Beesands, Torcross, Slapton and Dawlish. Locations most affected will be coastal roads and footpaths. The high tide at Teignmouth on Tuesday morning is at 9am, times of high water will vary along the coast. The forecast total high tide level is 2.37mAOD, which is 0.22 metres above tide table level. Strong force 5-6, south easterly winds and offshore wave heights of over 1m are forecast over the high tide. Similar coastal conditions are expected for Tuesday evening's high tide at 9:15pm, with a slightly higher tide level. We are closely monitoring the situation . Flood gates in the area will be closed by the Local Authority which will make access difficult. The detailed forecast is for a peak level at King's Lynn of 4.58mAODN at 08:30am on 29 September 2026, Wind Force 5, Easterly.
