This afternoon will see areas of cloud and some showery rain at times for the mainland and Orkney, with a chance of some thunder. Staying drier on Shetland, with sunny breaks.

Tonight

Tonight will be cloudy for most. Rain on the mainland, heavy at times. Becoming drier in the west towards dawn. The Isles will start dry, but rain will move in from the south by the early hours.

Monday

Tomorrow, the eastern mainland and the Isles will start cloudy with rain. It will soon clear, but it will linger on Shetland until the afternoon, when thundery showers can develop on the mainland.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday

Tuesday and Wednesday will see a mixture of thundery showers and sunny spells. Drier on the Isles, but showers will also develop, especially on Tuesday. A cool few days. Turning gradually cloudy on Thursday. Patchy rain will advance from the west by the end of the day.
