Three-year-old pikin and one school principal dey among di three pipo wey gunmen kpai on Wednesday, 10 June, wen dem attack Govment Secondary School, for Iluke Bunu for Kabba-Bunu Local Govment Area of Kogi State, northcentral Nigeria.

According to Fanwo, military personnel and local security forces intervene and prevent di attackers from carrying out mass abduction of students.

"Reports available to govment indicate say di bandits disrupt ongoing Waec examination and don already begin to march students into di bush wen security operatives engage dem in fierce gun battle," e add.

Fanwo say di security personnel rescue all di students unharmed and return dem to safety.

E say during di operation, security forces neutralise one of di bandits, while several odas escape wit gunshot injuries.

"Govment dey closely monitor di situation for di affected community and dey work wit relevant security agencies to strengthen security presence for di area," e tok.

"Make e dey clearly stated say Kogi State no go submit to terror. Criminal elements wey dey seek to undermine di peace and security of our state go continue to meet a determined, coordinated, and uncompromising response from security agencies and di govment," e add.

On dia part, di Kogi State Police Command say di pipo wey di gunmen kpai na Ganiyu Anifowose, di vice principal of UBE Secondary/Primary School, Iluke; Mr. Sunday Jacob Alhassan, aged 70 years; and one Sunday Ayele, aged 6 years.
