Tottenham will not have referee Alex King on their Christmas card list this year.

He denied them a penalty at the end of the first half and has now done the unthinkable - shown a red card in a friendly.

In King's defence, there can be little argument that it would have been a sending-off in a competitive match, with Joao Pedro through on goal when he was pulled down by the last defender.

But it rather undermines the point of a friendly as a preparation exercise for the new season.

A brilliant save from Antonin Kinsky to keep his side level.

Kevin Danso has been on the pitch for three minutes and he makes an absolute mess of this. His touch is bad and he turns to face his goalkeeper but Joao Pedro is running onto him and he sticks a leg out to try and recover.

A clear denial of a goal scoring opportunity.

Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli, the 16-year-old academy midfielder, was born in Sydney and it won't be lost on the hardcore fans here as he has been a major talking point upon his arrival.

Nicoll-Jazuli is involved in the biggest test of his very young career in a midfield battle against £100m Sandro Tonali, in-demand Lucas Bergvall and fellow Chelsea academy graduate Conor Gallagher.

He is definitely one who looks capable of making the grade someday.

The Chelsea manager has been gesturing a lot at his team as they struggle late in the half against Tottenham.

They have been pushed right back though Roberto De Zerbi remains vocal and demanding from the touchline regardless of how well his team is playing.

Tottenham don't make much of the set piece opportunity but settle into a period of possession as we approach the break.

Mathys Tel rides a couple of challenges in the penalty box after a burst of pace gets him in a good position but Teddy Sharman-Lowe makes the save at his near post.

A tough shot for Tel from a tight angle. Spurs have a corner.
