Tuchel says that "99.9% of the fans don't talk about tactical things.
"They speak about where they have watched the Mexico game, the speak about the second-half energy of the Croatia match. This is the feedback that I get. This is what we created and how it should be.
"This is what a World Cup is for, to connect with people and give them experiences that they do not forget. It makes me proud."

Thomas Tuchel says that the FA told him off for his substitution strategy during England's semi-final defeat against Argentina.
Then clarifies that he is joking.
"I felt the full support of my bosses throughout the World Cup," he says.

"I never had one sleepless night about my [World Cup] selection," Tuchel says.
"It feels unfulfilled, but that's how it is."
"There's not much sense in torturing ourselves.
"I will not allow 30 minutes of this World Cup to override how we view our achievement."

England boss Thomas Tuchel on trusting Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back: "[He needs to] Perform, that's just what it is. It is a competition and I understand the question because he was not with us at the World Cup. We trusted other players.
"I still stick with this decision and it is now time to fight for his place. He always said he is up for a fight, he always said he is up to fight for his place, especially for England so it is on him to prove and he is more than welcome in camp. We have a long camp and I am sure he will show up."

"The direction in sport is always forward, never backwards," Thomas Tuchel says, praising his squad for bouncing back in the third-place play-off after losing against Argentina in the semi-final.
There is a big focus on his players' mentality, resilience, and brotherhood in his remarks so far this morning.

England boss Thomas Tuchel on Trent Alexander-Arnold and Cole Palmer's inclusion: "They had a good start to the season. They never did something wrong. We just chose different players.
"So now it is a new competition, some players, some positions have more injuries, some have less injuries. But, Cole has his start that he always had but he has his numbers back, he has his assists back, he has decisive goals back so that is why he is in the squad. I think he has a point to prove and the same goes for Trent.
"He was never off the list, he was never non-selectable for us and it is his chance to show, come to camp and be the best version of himself. He had a good start in two positions for Real Madrid and he comes as a right-back for us."

Tuchel says of England's upcoming match against world champions Spain: "the gap is closing, we are close and we want to prove a point."
He also stresses that their success against France in the third-place play-off should be recognised, as he believes they have the best squad in the world at the moment.

Tuchel gives a nod to the contributions of Alex Scott, Josh King and Rio Ngumoha, who joined England in pre-tournament camp in North America.
He says that Josh King was "very close" to a place in his squad, but misses out - whereas the other two are on his list for the upcoming window.

Is Jarrod Bowen's England career over? Never was given much of a chance, except for the odd substitute appearance. Had been consistently amongst top scorers/assists in the Premier League, and now maintaining that consistency in the Championship. Would have offered more at the World Cup than some did

Wharton overlooked, again, one of the most outstanding midfielders in this country. Anderson is great, but can we say - definitively - that he’s better than Wharton, who’s been given hardly any opportunity in an England shirt? It’ll be interesting to see how much control we have against Spain…

Image source, Getty ImagesBrighton goalkeeper Jason Steele has been included in Thomas Tuchel's England squad for the extended international break over September and October.
The 36-year-old has comes in to replace injured Dean Henderson.
He started his career in Middlesbrough, with loan spells at Northampton and Blackburn before making the move permanent. He later joined Sunderland in the 2017-18 season.
Steele moved to Brighton in 2018, where he has featured 64 times so far.
He made appearances for England's youth national teams and the Great Britain Olympic team in 2012.
Tuchel included him as a training goalkeeper at the 2026 World Cup.

Better than the World Cup squad in my opinion. Shame Tuchel didn't realise what Lewis Hall could offer then really.
