A brilliant performance by West Ham and a deserved first WSL win of the season.
London City looked threatening in the latter stages of the game but it all happened too late - for the majority of the game, the hosts were untroubled.
Danielle van de Donk's cute backheel goal gave the visitors hope, but goals by West Ham's Kelly Gago and Vivanne Asseyi decide the contest for West Ham at the Chigwell Construction Stadium this afternoon.

Danielle van De Donk meets it at the front post and flicks it behind her into the goal.
It's almost a carbon copy of the goal she scored against Man Utd last week and it's lovely to watch.

French duo Kelly Gago and Vivian Asseyi grabbed well-taken goals as clinical West Ham defeated big-spending London City Lionesses in the Women's Super League.
The duo were both in sparkling form, troubling the London City backline consistently and notching copycat strikes in each half to help the Hammers to their first points of the season.
Danielle van de Donk scored her second backheel of the season to give the visitors hope but it was too late to salvage a stuttering performance from Eder Maestre's side.
In truth, a point would probably have been undeserved as Alexia Putellas and her team-mates never quite got going at Chigwell Construction Stadium.
Like Putellas, Gago was a summer arrival in the capital and, making her full West Ham debut after joining from Everton, her speed and tenacity unsettled the London City defence throughout.
She opened the scoring midway through the first half, racing clear and rounding goalkeeper Elene Lete for the opener.
It was two just after the break as Riko Ueki sent Asseyi through this time and she made no mistake from just inside the box.
London City had been impressive in an opening-night victory against Manchester United last Friday but were given a reality check by Rita Guarino's relentless side.
It might have been different had Putellas had not spurned a golden chance to equalise in the first half but the two-time Ballon d'Or winner blazed over from eight yards.
In the end, Van de Donk's brilliant instinctive finish gave them hope but West Ham held on to dampen the early-season positivity around London City.
