Tamworth climbed out of the National League relegation zone with a 2-0 victory over Sutton.

The hosts had the pick of the first-half chances with Teo Kurtaran's free-kick deflecting just wide and Kieren Donnelly denied by a brilliant block from Will Nightingale.

Donnelly put the Lambs ahead two minutes after the interval when he slotted home from close range after Spike Brits had parried Joe Rye's effort.

Victory was sealed five minutes later when Tom Handley and Emmanuel Osadebe battled at a corner and the latter headed into his own net.
