Just two games but plenty of excitement and intrigue.

Lincoln City march on on their return to the second tier after two generations away, Middlesbrough remain in the mix at the top of the table and Millwall and Bristol City are on the fringes of the early play-off race too.

Little old Lincoln City, in the play-off places? Three points off the top of the Championship, in their first season in the second tier in 65 years? Surely not?

These are heady days for the Imps and their hard-fought 1-0 win at Ashton Gate means they have leapfrogged both the Robins and Millwall, who are back into the top half courtesy of their point at Middlesbrough.

Boro are one of four sides level on points at the top of the table.

They did enough! Whatever was said in that dressing room at half-time, it worked.

The goal created a mess in the Bristol City defence and Freddie Draper was there to slot home. When it does fall to you, you have to take that opportunity.

Bristol City had more possession, but Lincoln held their shape and looked strong.

Exactly the performance you'd want from Lincoln and the fitness from the boys looked great.

We weren't great first half, we were a little bit slow and we were punished. It was a low block and it's something to get around because I guarantee teams will set up a low block against us.

But credit due in the second half. When people think you're down you come back and we played well.

If you can't win then get a point and that's what we've done. We now need to get the three points down at Birmingham.

A third successive away league win for Lincoln City and a fourth clean sheet in their past five games.

Freddie Draper's second-half strike proves decisive after a poor backpass from Rob Dickie was intercepted by Ben House.

The evening got worse for Dickie as he was stretchered off later in the second-half with what looks like a serious knee injury.

Lorent Tolaj headed against the bar for the home side while George Wickens superbly denied Yu Hirakwa with an outstretched leg.

Bristol City had 67% possession and forced 13 corners but the Imps have done a number on them to inflict a second successive Championship defeat on their former boss Michael Skubala.

Oh, and Lincoln are in the play-off spots...

A pulsating game ends with a point apiece.

Millwall have absolutely earned that point, they defended bravely, took their chances when they came in the first half, and had to withstand a ferocious comeback on Teesside on a night when they had less than 20% of the ball.

Boro deserve credit for their second-half turnaround, with the lively Amario Cozier-Duberry and Will Lankshear cancelling out first-half goals from Tairyk Arconte and Lyndon Dykes.

Both sides will feel they might have won it, and could have lost it, so a point apiece feels fair.

Boro miss the chance to go top of the table but are now one of four sides who sit alongside one another at the top while Millwall's first draw of the season takes them back into the top half.

Could be the last chance... Jeremy Sarmiento fires in a shot from the edge of the box but it's always too high and flies over the bar.

Luke Ayling's deep cross is nodded back across goal by Myles Peart-Harris but Max Crocombe is able to gather the loose ball.
