Lots of comments about only showing up when there's nothing at stake. The issue in the last game v SL wasn't the batting!

    Matt, Huddersfield

The comments about us only performing when nothing is on the line. We have had some great performances this series, yet the table doesn't show that. Maybe our bowling can improve but Duckett, Brook and others have pulled out some consistently amazing batting performances.

    England are flying.

The drinks break clearly brought some sort of team meeting for Sri Lanka, but it has realigned England's thinking to just go for it.

They have the license to keep swinging and to treat this game like a shorter format.

A slower ball from Eshan Malinga, but Ben Duckett was able to wait for it. It was a nice juicy full toss.

A slower delivery from Dilshan Madushanka but it sits up nicely for Ben Duckett, who throws his hands through the line of the ball and pulls it out to the mid-wicket boundary for a one-bounce four.

  4. Eng 224-1published at 33 overs

Harry Brook follows that shot up with four through mid-wicket, before Ben Duckett gets on top of Eshan Malinga's delivery and adds a boundary of his own through a similar area.

    A ridiculous shot.

There is almost an element where it feels like Sri Lanka have given up in the field. There have been some horrific efforts in the field.

Harry Brook, playing against Sri Lanka in ODIs averages 94 - that's from eight innings. The 200 helped the other day, but numbers are numbers.

    Six more for Harry Brook!

He just about clears the man at deep square having got hold of Eshan Malinga's delivery, although the fielder out there gets a hand on it.

That's the fifty partnership from 44 balls.

There were never any moments like that in the innings of 202 from Harry Brook.

Intrigued to see how he will play today.

Having started quietly, Harry Brook has begun to motor now.

He finishes Dunith Wellalage's over with a four and six, sweeping behind square and then clearing the man at long-on.

If you ever needed proof out issue is not ability but mindset. We are brilliant when nothing is on the line, and crumble the moment it is.

Cricket is just so easy when it's meaningless. England proving once again that they're simply flat track bullies. Embarrassing really.

England getting to that 30th over and then switching into T20 mode.

That is how they managed to get to 429 against this very side.

Are we going to see that switch now from England?
