Guernsey's Chalmers out of European Championships
Chalmers was 1.41 seconds off his personal best in the semi-final

Guernsey's Alastair Chalmers has missed out on making the finals of the 400m hurdles at the European Championships.
The 26-year-old finished seventh in his semi-final at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.
The 2022 Commonwealth Games bronze medallist and 2024 Olympic semi-finalist was up with the leaders going into the final 150m before falling back.
He finished in a time of 49.71 seconds, 1.54 seconds behind Germany's Emil Agyekum who won the race .
Italy's Alessandro Sibilio was second in 48.44 and took the other automatic qualifying spot.
Chalmers was the slowest of Great Britain's three competitors - all of whom failed to make the final.
Jake Minshull was fifth in his semi-final in 48.73 seconds while Joshua Faulds was also fifth in his race in a time of 49.26.
It was the last major championship of the season for Chalmers, who was sixth in the Commonwealth Games final in Glasgow earlier this month.
