If I were Carrick I would walk in the morning. He did the best he could, however the same happens time and time again. The players are just not giving their all and that is the biggest problem with every manager.

  3. goal

GOAL - Como 3-0 Manchester United

    Nico Paz

    Wow!

It gets worse for Manchester United, where is the defending again!?

Carlos Baleba gives the ball away to Nico Paz near the halfway line and Paz charges into the box. No-one is able to get close to him before he drives a shot into the back of the net.

What a night for Como, they are 3-0 up and fully deserve to be as well. By far the better side.

  4. Como 2-0 Manchester United

The Manchester United defence is once again exposed as Harry Maguire fails to close down Lucas da Cunha, who tries to bend a shot into the far corner but the ball goes over.

  5. 'It's just a fantastic goal'

    Como 2-0 Manchester United

    Glenn Hoddle
Former England and Tottenham manager on TNT Sports

It's just a fantastic goal, it really is. United have come out with more intent, looking as if they want to get on the front foot but sadly just a couple of little turns and passes, and my word, they are in behind United.

Great little run from Douvikas, he goes on the blind side of de Ligt, and shoots across the front of him.

Utterly ridiculous. Why can't United be organised at the start of halves? May as well throw the kids on now; what's there to lose!?

    Andrew, Corinth TX

  7. Como 2-0 Manchester United

Mason Mount tries his luck from way out but the shot is always rising. It looked like a shot taken in frustration.

  8. 'Where is the United defence?'

    Como 2-0 Man Utd

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

Where is the United defence? They are opened up again, and no-one gets across.

You can hear more from Warnock on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

  9. goal

GOAL - Como 2-0 Manchester United

    Tasos Douvikas (48 mins)

Three minutes into the second half...

Manchester United had actually started the second half with more intensity but they are caught out as Nico Paz plays a neat ball to Tasos Douvikas and he thumps a powerful strike into the back of the net.

  13. 'The problems at Manchester United is certainty not Carrick'

    HT: Como 1-0 Man Utd

    Joe Cole
Former Chelsea and England midfielder on TNT Sports

Unfortunately that's football [on whether a bad second half performance puts Carrick at risk]. It shouldn't be because the problems at Manchester United is certainty not Micheal Carrick, but I'm looking at it now, I'm looking at the bench and he has to do something.

Baleba, I know they are thinking about his minutes but you have to get him in. You need legs in midfield, so I expect to see him. But there are so many problems you have to fix at half-time.

Utterly shameful first half from Utd. You could sub the entire team at half time.

    Craig, Scarborough

Insipid performance in that half with not one single positive to take from it. This team run like they’re wading in treacle.

    Terry, Salford

  15. Man Utd have been 'chasing shadows'

    Como 1-0 Manchester United

    Glenn Hoddle
Former England and Tottenham manager on TNT Sports

These United players have had to work so hard to chase the ball, and they have been chasing shadows half the time. It's going to feel like they have played 70 minutes already.

  16. 'United are just too easy to play against'

    HT: Como 1-0 Man Utd

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

United are just too easy to play against. Nothing has changed since I last spoke about them (at 18:20 BST) because the word to describe their performance is still 'passive'.

Paz has been brilliant so far but United allow him to get on the ball because they don't press.

You can hear more from Warnock on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

  17. HALF-TIME

    Como 1-0 Manchester United

The whistle goes for half time and Como lead after a brilliant first half.

A lot for Manchester United to think about. They need to be much, much better.

  18. Como 1-0 Manchester United

Noussair Mazraoui gives the ball away on the edge of the Manchester United box and Martin Baturina is on to the ball before having a pop from distance, but Senne Lammens makes the save.

Surely Carrick has seen enough? Pull some of the senior players and give the young’uns a go. Can’t do much worse and will at least try to put in the effort required. Anything but another whimpering, passive loss.

    Tom, Canada

What has happened to my team? Why play players out of position and never give youth a chance?

  20. Como 1-0 Manchester United

Tasos Douvikas breaks away from the defence and skips past Senne Lammens before going down inside the box. Was there contact? It doesn't matter because Douvikas was flagged offside just before, but another warning for Manchester United.
