Chopin's Scottish Swansong
Saturday 2 August 2008 12:15-13:00 (Radio 3)
Writers Janice Galloway and Iwo Zaluski follow in the footsteps of Frederic Chopin who, in 1848, visited Scotland at the suggestion of his devoted pupil Jane Stirling on what was to be his final tour.
They visit some of the houses Chopin stayed in and the venues in which he played to find out what life on the road was really like for the ailing musician who died just a year later.
Including a selection of the compositions Chopin played in his Scottish recitals.
