Dvořák's Symphony No. 8 from Berlin

Elizabeth Alker presents an afternoon of exceptional music-making, featuring performances from the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra and chamber music from Bavaria.

The programme opens with Gershwin in a vibrant new arrangement by Miho Hazama, who also conducts, followed by Dvořák’s richly coloured Symphony No. 8 and Sibelius’s evocative En Saga, both conducted by Sakari Oramo.

From the Imperial Hall Concerts in Füssen, Poulenc’s playful incidental music from L’Invitation au château is brought to life, while the Amatis Piano Trio performs Mendelssohn’s lyrical Second Piano Trio. At the Goldmund Festival, tenor Julian Prégardien joins the Goldmund Quartet for Schumann’s expressive Liederkreis.

Elsewhere, Richard Goode offers an intimate perspective in Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 30.
