Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings with the BBC Philharmonic

Elizabeth Alker reflects on recent highlights from the Charles Wood Festival at Glenarm. Featuring specially made recordings, with performances from the acclaimed soprano Erika Baikoff, the Grammy award-winning mezzo Fleur Barron, and one of today's leading recital tenors, Ilker Arcayürek.

Throughout the week, we'll be shining a spotlight on the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. Today, their string section takes centre stage in the lush Romanticism of Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings in C Major.

We'll also hear from one of Denmark's most exciting young chamber ensembles, the NOVO Quartet - one of our current BBC Next Generation Artists.
